Curtiss-Wright Controls has received a contract from a leading manufacturer of floor-cleaning machines to supply its motor controller technology for use in a new electric floor-cleaning machine. Under the agreement, Curtiss-Wright Controls Industrial (CWCI) division will provide its Sigmadrive ACT212S motor controller. The estimated value of the contract over its five year lifetime is in excess of $1 million.

“We are excited that our electric motor controller technology was selected for use on this new floor cleaning machine,” said Tom Quinly, president of Curtiss-Wright Controls. “This agreement marks the first use of our Sigmadrive motor controller in a volume floor-cleaning application and we look forward to a long successful partnership with the manufacturer. Furthermore, this contract award is an example of Curtiss-Wright’s recent end market diversification into advanced electric-powered industrial vehicles.”

The Sigmadrive family of motor controllers is designed for use in a wide range of electric vehicle applications such as materials handling, airport ground support, industrial, utility and mobile elevating work platforms. It is designed for use in the challenging environments typical of electric vehicles, providing excellent protection against dust and water in an incredibly low profile, rugged package.
