At this year’s Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show (Indianapolis, 12-14 December), world-renowned brake and clutch supplier AP Racing  officially launched its all-new Balance Bar Adjuster (BBA).

Developed in-house by AP Racing’s mechatronics department, the compact, cost-effective actuator controls the position of a balance bar based on a CAN target. Designed with a low profile and compact footprint, which allows for easy integration and low false floors to maximise space in the footwell, the adjuster can be supplied independently, or pre-installed into an AP Racing pedal box with factory set calibration.

Its 3D-printed housing is made from carbon fibre reinforced plastic, allowing the device to be mounted directly without external brackets, which saves on weight, part count and cost. The BBA requires a 12V DC power supply and is interfaced solely via CAN.

Commenting on the launch, AP Racing’s managing director, David Hamblin, said: “2024 has been another brilliant year for innovation and product development at AP Racing, with a number of new products brought to market in the last quarter of the year alone.

“Our new BBA is perfect for high-performance racing. Used alongside our industry-leading pedal boxes, it delivers the competitive advantage that our customers are striving for.”

The PRI Show is the world’s largest gathering of motorsports professionals, bringing together more than 1,000 exhibitors and 40,000 attendees from across 70 countries. AP Racing will be showcasing the BBA, alongside its wider product range, in the Yellow Hall on booth 4815.
