ifm458 e mediumDangerous situations can arise when machines run too fast; the new PL e and SIL 3 rated DD110S will safely signal if and when a set speed has been exceeded.

Centrifuges, separators, machine tools and wind turbines are just a few of the types of machinery that can be protected by using two standard inductive pick-ups feeding signals into the DD110S. The slim design of the DD110S means it can easily be fitted onto a rail in the control cabinet, and once installed the setting is simple; three potentiometers are provided for selecting set speeds in RPM or Hz. The range of speeds is impressive: with a maximum RPM of 49,500 or frequency up to 990 Hz most applications are covered.

In addition to the safety relay outputs, the DD110S provides transistor outputs for diagnostics, with one indicating a system fault and the other a copy of the overspeed signal. An array of LED’s on the front of the DD110S also indicates the system status.  The DD110S will operate over a temperature range from -40 to +55 °C, on 24V DC, and supplies the operating voltage to the input sensors.
