Apex Dynamics UK has unveiled two new product ranges at the PPMA Show 2023 – a series of helical gearboxes and a servo worm gearbox range – showcasing its groundbreaking gearbox technology. The motion control specialist used the UK’s largest event dedicated to state-of-the-art processing and packaging machinery to preview the product duo, giving potential customers a chance to see the technology before it becomes commercially available in the next few weeks.
High performance, reliability and efficiency from groundbreaking new helical gearboxes
The G-series of helical gearboxes have been developed to deliver enhanced performance, reliability and load capacity, coupled with low noise and a long service life. The reduction transmission devices can be used with a variety of different types of motors, can be combined into mechatronics and can be connected in a range of installation positions to suit customer requirements.
Apex Dynamics’ latest highly adaptable, compact helical gearboxes have been developed in four variants in order to meet differing application requirements. The range includes the GR-series coaxial helical gearbox, the GF-series parallel shaft helical gearbox, the GS-series helical worm gearbox, and the GK-series helical bevel gearbox.
The high performance geared motors range offers brake, encoder and force vent varieties, and foot, face, flange or torque arm mounting options. All of the G-series products meet the European market standard footprint to allow for common design interchangeability, and there are right angle and inline variants, as well as gearbox only or geared motor combinations, available. With a high-quality, cast-iron housing, the G-series has hardened and ground gearing for accurate and smooth operation, and a large power and torque range (0.09 kW-200 kW/85 Nm-50,000 Nm).
Offering better transmission efficiency, which cuts maintenance and repair costs, along with a wide power range and finely-graded transmission ratios, Apex’s helical gear reducers are suitable for a host of applications and industry sectors, including metallurgy, mining, lifting, transportation, cement, construction, the chemical industry, textile, printing and dyeing, and pharmaceutical.
Apex Dynamics’ Servo Worm gearbox range delivers precise positioning and repeatability
As well as the G-series, Apex Dynamics UK is also previewing its Servo Worm gearbox for the UK stage. Complete with dual lead worm drive, the left and right flanks of the worm shaft use different lead angles to cause gradual change in tooth thickness, enabling customers to move the worm shaft and adjust the worm gear gyration backlash to less than 1 arc minute. This delivers a range of benefits, including improved reliability and precision rotary motion, in addition to reducing noise, vibration and movement from load changes, speed changes, cutting, corotation, and reverse.
Comprising J, D, L and B variants, the high precision right angle servo worm gearbox is available in a range of six different frame sizes, two backlash variants (1 arc min or 2-4 arc minute), and a series of nine ratios. With low noise and a long service life, Apex Dynamics’ servo worm gearbox has a torque range of 44 Nm-460 Nm, input flange variants to match the required servo motor, aluminium alloy housing, and comes with solid shaft, hollow shaft and shrink disk output options. Ideal for precision rotary motion, as a precision indexing device, or in speed changing situations, the high precision right angle servo worm gearboxes can be used in wide range of application scenarios.
