In the year of their 45th birthday, the West Country based custom enclosure manufacturer have launched an exciting new website www.beechcraft.co.uk
The family run business specialises in the design and production of low volume high quality mouldings in structural polyurethane.
As one of the UK’s longest standing specialist in PU they have developed an enviable reputation for producing innovative high quality ‘design solutions’ for clients in many aspects of industry: aerospace, medical and process control to name a few. ISO9001 accreditation was achieved in 1991 and they are approved suppliers to many major companies.
If you are looking for an enclosure or a structural moulding in quantities from 10 – 400 per month their website is just the place to start your search.
They are happy to offer free initial advice right through to a fully controlled design service and completed product, this can include conceptual sketches, full colour illustrations and 2D or CAD format working drawings. A 3D model can also be supplied prior to tooling if required.
Tooling can be rapidly manufactured in either cast Resin – Aluminium composite utilising SLA or SLS CAD generated patterns or for higher annual quantities Machined Aluminium Tooling capable of well over 5000 impressions. Typical lead times are 6-8 weeks for the cast resin and 10-12 for the machined aluminium. Tolerances for first offs of +/- 0.25mm.
We asked Managing Director Darren Phillips why designers should be looking to use polyurethane,
“PU (or RIM) offers many advantages over other processes. Wall sections from 2-30mm allow the designer a flexibility to incorporate a chassis within the enclosure with moulded in inserts and fixings to support electronic and optical components in a very stylish and functional case.
These can be supplied in vast ranges of paint finishes with RFI/EMC shielding and silk screen printing if required.”
Their new website walks you through the whole process from start to finish showing you its adaptability and the projects they have been involved in over their many years in business.
If you would like a moulded sample of the material so you can see for yourself how versatile it is, give them a call on 01761 416642 or email enquiries@beechcraft.co.uk.
