Data Centre World at ExCeL on 21-22nd March was the start of a series of industry-focused exhibitions where the importance of cable compliance, and notably CPR compliance, was emphasised by Eland Cables. Nine months on from the mandatory adoption of the Construction Products Regulation there remains confusion in the market as to best practice, minimum requirements, and market availability of cable products, notably when working on projects outside the UK.

Whilst BS7671 (17 Ed.) Wiring Regulations make no mention of CPR and draft releases of the 18th Edition (July 2018) is similarly free of reference, some other European countries are legislating CPR Euroclasses based on risk assessments. With every country having their own national standards body, these are all different, despite CPR offering a common language. It requires an in-depth understanding of both the cable market and the legislation to be able to navigate with confidence, and Eland Cables’ extensive experience to date has put them at the centre of this crossover point. They have become the trusted partner, working on data centre build projects across 6 European countries, providing customised solutions that include geo-specific cable approvals.

For more information on CPR, Eland Cables will be on Stand S242 at Smart Industry Expo, NEC Birmingham 10-12 April, and on Stand A7 at Data Centre North, Old Trafford Manchester, 1-2 May
