Manufactured from cost-effective yet high-performance xirodur B180 material, igus’ xiros end cap ball bearing offers high wear resistance, durability, waterproof properties, and is self-lubricating and FDA approved.
This low weight maintenance-free bearing is said to guarantee low friction values for the inner and outer bearing ring, providing exceptionally long-life. Furthermore, its tribo-polymer design enables it to withstand rotational speeds of up to 1,800rpm, resist harsh chemicals and corrosive environments, and endure temperatures from -40°C up to +80°C. Its axial load-bearing capacity is 245N in static use and 294N in dynamic applications.
To further meet design needs, the bearing can be customised and is available with glass, plastic or stainless steel balls that are protected by a polyamide cage, ensuring high material strength and durability.
The bearing is suitable for a range of applications including rollers for roller conveyors – tubes with an outer diameter of 50mm can be turned into rollers by
simply inserting the end cap ball bearings. Depending on requirements, different roller lengths, thicknesses and materials are possible by cutting the central tube to the desired length. The outer diameter of the bearing features a number of ribs which enable a good fit to a wider range of tube dimensions. The bearings are also suitable for use in the food and beverage, and packaging industries.
