Genset housing hardware from EMKA
EMKA engineers have developed a package of proven enclosure hardware with style and quality to compliment all sizes of electrical generators for basement or rooftop installation. Genset packages are often installed in harsh outdoor environments but are required to be reliable and resistant to these arduous conditions for extended lifetimes – EMKA locks, handles, hinges, gasket and accessories support this and are suitable for external enclosures or cabins – also for internal control housings.
Typically, the hardware kit includes an IP65 slam closure recessed handle, which provides an easy opening cycle – pull to operate, slam to close. Once open, telescopic cover-stays/door-stays in steel or stainless steel may be used to hold the door open conveniently against wind forces in the outside environment or to support horizontal panels against gravity during access for maintenance.
External flat butt hinges are simple to install and suitable for large heavy doors, while lift-off versions are available as are internal lift-off hinges. Door sealing is taken care of with standard EMKA knock on gaskets incorporating side bubble sealing – this simply fits the edge of the frame section so the door can compress onto the bubble. The package is completed with window glazing sections including a locking element to ensure a positive fit and seal.
Clip-on style gasket profiles from EMKA for specialist enclosures and vehicles
As manufacturers of “everything but the enclosure” EMKA focus carefully on each aspect of industrial enclosure design – nowhere more so than in the production of gasket sections which are absolutely vital in the provision of effective door seals. Exclusion of fingers, tools, dust and water are essential features for all electrical and electronic cabinet installations so EMKA now offer a full range of clip-on style extruded rubber section seals.
Also recognised as “P” type or “bubble” gaskets EMKA sections are a simple push fit onto the frame edge of an enclosure or vehicle body and are available with factory joined corners which provide complete integrity around the door periphery while saving time in assembly at the factory.
Clip-on gaskets include a spring steel spine within the moulding to provide a strong fixing to the frame edge of the enclosure or larger cabinet. Being firmly held in place a clip-on gasket can provide a very effective and long lived seal up to IP65.
EMKA full package of Air Conditioning hardware
The EMKA range of Air Conditioning HVAC specialist panel hardware now comprises a full program of heavy-duty vibration resistant latches, lift and turn latches, pull handles, pull with quarter turn and 180° hinges and P type gasket profiles which may be provided in continuous sealed rings. The sealed ring configuration ensures unbroken sealing, which permits over pressure systems with minimal leaks. Accessories include panel connectors and dual skin sealed portholes for easy inspection.
In particular the EMKA Compression Latch-Hinge is designed to meet the special needs of the HVAC industry with features that provide ease of assembly, adjustability, pressure differential accommodation, and flexibility for the end user. Once assembled to the door the EMKA compression latch can be adjusted to properly mate to the cabinet by moving both vertically and horizontally. Then after installation the alignment of the latch can be adjusted to eliminate leaks. The latch will then prevent the door from opening fully until pressure has been equalised.
The EMKA HVAC solution covers a package of program 1000 compression T handle latch/lock, or similar L handle or wing handle. These offer convenient quarter-turn operation with cylinder key lock, plus a full 6mm compression of the gasket, so guarding against spurious door opening under vibration conditions.
Heavy duty program 1046 weld-on or bolt-on hinges with concealed fittings and removable hinge pins accommodate both the weight of large doors and the need to remove them quickly – factors which can also call for adjustable hinges. Frequently the 1054 3D hinge is required to deal with this situation. Sealing of these doors is often best facilitated by use of the 1011-09 right angle clip-on EPDM profile strip with integral D section to prevent ingress of liquids and solids.
