What is DIPG:

Brain tumours claim more young lives than ANY other form of childhood cancer. In the UK 450 children are diagnosed every year and for many the chances of survival remain low.

Among them is a rare lethal tumour so DEADLY it has NO treatment and its prognosis is UNCHANGED IN DECADES. It has a peak age incidence between 5 and 9 years old and the median survival… is just 8 – 12 months!

This fatal brain cancer is ‘Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma’ or DIPG.

medway medium‘Abbies Army’ formed after the loss of one of the 40 children affected by DIPG each year; she was only 6 years old when she passed away 5 months after her diagnosis.
