This international aircraft component company, are a global supply chain expert who have been providing management solutions to an ever growing aerospace industry for decades. With more than 8500 customers worldwide, they have developed a range of products and services that meet the diverse demands of the civil, commercial and, defence aerospace industries.
With an inventory of nearly 600,000 stock units, including hardware, bearings, fluid fittings and electromechanical components, the aircraft company required a workshop that was organised and efficient, as well as one that incorporated their established branding scheme. With this in mind Dura’s expert team of workshop designers set about creating a centre of excellence that would allow streamlined services and increased productivity.
As the layout of the quality assurance centre was to be based around a precise ‘U-Shape’, Dura started by assigning the perfect combination of cabinets into the internal dimensions of the room. As a mixture of well-proportioned tool storage cabinets and bulk storage cabinets (both low and high level) were required, Dura developed a corner solution that made perfect use of the space available.
Each technician manages a number of small components, in order to monitor supply shipments; a separate workspace was created designated for this purpose.
For the final area of the workshop Dura created a bespoke section that allowed for a number of unique considerations. This included a high level solution of heavy-duty shelving and a custom built selection of tambour door units to create easy access high level and low level storage.
To ensure the whole of the workshop was in-keeping with the international aircraft company’s corporate identity, Dura applied a bespoke grey and blue colour-scheme to all integrated furniture, and finalised the wall units with expertly cut decals.
The end result was a workshop that was beautifully tailored to bespoke requirements and provided the experienced team with an efficiently organised and perfectly styled work bay.
