The Institution of Mechanical Engineers is easing the procedure of applying for membership and registration.

James Hobbs, head of membership and marketing at the Institution, said: “The Institution is continuing to see strong growth in members, as more and more people benefit from the Institution’s membership and registration.

“The Institution’s popularity is based on the stringent standards of assessment and the globally-recognised validation of engineers’ professional and technical abilities. Membership provides reassurance for employers, and opens up doors to engineers working around the world.

“By easing the application process we hope to encourage yet more engineers, particularly those based outside of the UK, to apply and reap the benefits of membership.”
