As hubs of creativity go, they don’t come much bigger than London. One of the most diverse cities in the world, our capital is home to old-school glamour (think Harrods, Fortnum and Mason and Buckingham Palace to name but a few), Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, hipster havens like Camden and Shoreditch and wealthy spots like Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea.

It’s hip, it’s happening but, as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for and in London that invariably involves ‘top dollar’.

Even in the relatively ‘unrevolutionary’ world of B2B marketing, if blue-chip brands are searching for a campaign that pushes the boundaries, that involves the use of ground-breaking technology, the chances are they will look to London first.

Which is fine if yours is a FTSE 100 company with a marketing kitty to burn. Yes, one has to speculate to accumulate but most of us probably are working with a budget that is likely to exclude a two-minute film directed by Martin Scorsese, or indeed having Bruce Willis and Bono on hand to promote your latest rebrand.

Happily, you don’t have to use an agency that is surrounded by pop-up Peruvian street food stalls and shabby-chic micropubs to tap into some serious streams of creativity (although it probably makes for some interesting lunchtime options).

Based in Yorkshire, with an office in London we’re justifiably proud of our heritage of creativity. This is where Emily Bronte wrote Wuthering Heights, where the scenery of East Yorkshire inspired David Hockney to paint some of his finest jewel-toned creations, where Alan Bennett devised his Talking Heads and where Dame Judi Dench, Sean Bean and Sir Patrick Stewart first honed their acting talents – not to mention it’s where Ed Sheeran and the Kaiser Chiefs hail from.

If the impressive roll-call of Yorkshire champions of culture isn’t enough to persuade you, consider that outside of London, Yorkshire is the largest UK creative powerhouse and the last Creative England’s annual CE50 list of the 50 most talented young enterprises, contained 8 from Yorkshire – more than any other region – including a documentary making firm, an augmented reality and a virtual reality developer, and film and TV production companies.

All this is supported with key national institutions relocating to or being created in the city of Leeds: Channel 4 Headquarters, the BBC northern relocation strategy, British Library North and the National Poetry Centre.

So why not look to the North in search of fresh ideas – and better still, Yorkshire, where you pay Yorkshire prices? Being frugal is a way of life for Yorkshire folk. We won’t stand for anything less than good value for money – which is why we will deliver creative campaigns that keep one eye on ROI and the purse strings.

We have some very lovely B2B clients in London – and thanks to the ever-improving transport links between here and the capital – we can be with them in less time than it takes to navigate the M25…even on a good day.

Our office is in Halifax but our clients are based all over the UK, so why not get in touch to see how we can give your business a marketing boost without breaking the bank.
