Since the start of the year Pentagon Plastics have been rolling out a significant improvement agenda within their Horsham based facility.  This has encompassed significant investment into two new plastic injection moulding machines that will deliver increased manufacturing production capacity by around 9%, electricals upgrade and new lifting and material storage solutions.

The purchase of new machinery enhances the existing plant and has been a long time in the planning for the organisation, initially intended for purchase in 2020 however the pandemic caused the organisation to freeze investment plans and ride out the storms that followed.  Plans regained traction mid-2024 and the first six-months of the year have seen major factory movements and renovations to accommodate the new Haitian 120 and 280 Tonne presses.

Additionally, the business has been creating improvements to their material storage capacity and overall manufacturing workflow with a heavy focus on LEAN Manufacture throughout. The remainder of the year will see continued improvement in employee facilities, new enhanced Packing room and other integral facility upgrades.

Machinery and Facility Investment at PentagonThese renovation and improvement works are not for the faint hearted, ensuring production has been uninterrupted throughout has been challenging.  However, it is to the credit of the in-house organisational team and the dedicated workforce that the organisation has successfully navigated these transitions without impacting service level agreements.

The improvements carried out this year mark another milestone in Pentagons rich 50+ year history, ensuring that the facility, machinery and working environment are aligned for continued trajectory of growth within the plastic injection moulding industry.
