Provides easy integration with popular course management systems. Maple T.A. can now be easily integrated with course management systems that support LTI.

Maplesoft announced today an important update to Maple T.A., their powerful online testing and assessment system designed especially for courses involving mathematics. Ideal for use in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, Maple T.A. now supports the Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard. This means Maple T.A. can be easily integrated with course management systems that support LTI. Maplesoft officially supports LTI connectivity with Canvas, Blackboard Learn, Brightspace, Moodle, and Sakai.

LTI support expands the collection of connectivity options for Maple T.A. Maplesoft also offers dedicated connectors for Blackboard and Moodle, and a web services API for custom development that allows Maple T.A. to be integrated into virtually any course management or learning management system. Integrating Maple T.A. with a course management system allows students and instructors to move freely between the two environments without having to log on more than once. It also provides a single location for students to access all their assignments, regardless of which system the assignment was created in, and a consolidated gradebook so all the students’ marks are available in one place.

“Many instructors want to take advantage of the advanced assessment facilities of Maple T.A. in their STEM courses, while continuing to use their institution’s course management systems,” says Jonny Zivku, the Maple T.A. Product Manager at Maplesoft. “Now, with LTI connectivity, it is even easier for institutions to incorporate the powerful testing abilities of Maple T.A. directly into the environment they are using to manage other aspects of their courses.”

The LTI connectivity is freely available to all Maple T.A. 10 and Maple T.A. MAA Placement Test Suite customers, and will be incorporated into the next major releases of these products.
