In order to expand its product portfolio, Menzel Elektromotoren is acquiring a majority stake in Franz Wölfer Elektromaschinenfabrik Osnabrück, a company that recently went into insolvency.
Menzel is now co-managing the business with Wölfer’s founding family to ensure that the production of high-quality Wölfer brand electric motors will continue in Osnabrück.
The new ownership structure does not lead to any changes to existing contractual relationships with customers. The owners are aiming to conclude the insolvency period as soon as possible.
Wölfer will contribute valuable additional know-how to the Menzel group of companies, notably regarding special low-voltage asynchronous motor design for hoisting machinery and the shipping industry.
Menzel Elektromotoren manufactures and supplies custom electric motors for robust industrial applications, mainly in the power range of 200 to 15,000 kW. A major strategic strength is the construction and worldwide delivery of a variety of high-quality low-voltage, high-voltage and DC motors. An extensive range of units kept on stock ensures that Menzel is ready to deliver on short notice.
