The number and variety of exhibitors at this year’s Sensing Technology exhibition, which took place at the end of September, made it a useful and interesting event, with a diverse range of products and technologies available for visitors to see. Companies who attended included Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, Micro-Epsilon, Bronkhorst, Keller, Profibus, National Instruments, Infratec Infrared, Sensor Technology, plus many more.
According to the exhibitors, visitors were knowledgeable, interested and keen to discuss product features and applications with staff manning the stands; and many companies saw a mixture of both old customers and potential new ones.
The co-location of Sensing Technology with a number of other events – MM, MEMS and NANO, plus Mediplas and TCT Live – was a further benefit, with exhibitors reporting that visitors to the other shows found products of interest within Sensing Technology.
The seminars, meanwhile, covered such subjects as ‘Wireless structural monitoring via the cloud’; ‘Reducing process control costs’; and ‘Three steps to Profibus success’.
The success of Sensing Technology 2012 resulted from a collaboration between Datateam Business Media and Trident Exhibitions, and in 2013 both companies are once again teaming up. This time, however, they are launching a brand new show. Sensors & Instrumentation will be taking place on
25-26th September 2013 at the NEC, Birmingham, and will be the new national show for the sensors, instrumentation, test, measurement and control market.
Ian Goldsbrough from Infratec Infrared, a 2012 exhibitor, said: “I can see the potential for the exhibition to expand over the coming years, with the joint responsibility of Datateam and Trident.”
The new website will be launched soon
