RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents, the global distributor for engineers, is now stocking the latest GearWrench 120XP ratcheting socket wrenches and spanners, which feature a precise 3-degree swing arc and long reach with a compact head design to help engineers work quickly and efficiently even in inaccessible areas.

This new range by Apex Tool Group comes from the same brand portfolio as Allen, the enduring industry reference for hex keys. The tools are designed with high-quality materials and finishes to provide a lifetime’s service.

The socket wrenches offer a choice of ¼-, 3/8- or ½-inch square drive, with long handles giving lengths of 5.11 inch, 8.38 inch and 11.02 inch respectively for enhanced reach. They also feature a low-profile teardrop-shaped head with 6-position adjustable angle, which enhances usability in tight spaces such as inside enclosures or behind panels. The wrenches are available individually, or as a 3-wrench set, or in multi-piece socket sets containing a selection of SAE and metric size sockets.

The 120XP line also includes several ranges of combination spanners, including solid steel spanners in sizes from 6mm to 19mm, and flex head spanners with a choice of open non-ratcheting end or 0-degree offset box-type non-ratcheting end in sizes from 8mm to 19mm. All feature the GearWrench XL beam, which is extra long and wide to allow enhanced force distribution and optimum reach. The spanners can be bought individually or as multi-piece sets in metric or SAE sizes.

Ratchet gimbals with ¼- and 3/8-inch square drive are also available, which fit conveniently in the palm of the hand to allow quick and easy tightening. Rotation on two planes allows use at various angles, and the units feature an easily accessible forward/reverse lever and 72-tooth ratchet giving a 5-degree swing arc.
