A new standalone company has been created out of the former pneumatics business unit of Bosch Rexroth.

Building on its more than 200 years’ experience Rexroth Pneumatics, which will now be known as Aventics, will target new markets such as heavy industry and medical technology, as well as expanding its core business in factory automation.

The company has described the move as the biggest change in the pneumatics market in recent decades.

Speaking about the launch of the new global pneumatics brand, Dr Alexander Lawrence, chief sales officer for Aventics, said: “With this new company we are looking to combine the proven track record and product portfolio of Rexroth Pneumatics with the added flexibility of a medium-sized company. Our latest AV valve series is an example of how this will work in practice, combining a new innovative diagonal design concept with 40 years of experience in the integration of high-performance polymers and electronic engineering. The result is a compact, low weight valve with improved energy efficiency and more freedom for machine layouts.”

Dr Lawrence added: “Our new name Aventics is a combination of the words advantage, invention, and pneumatics, and describes what we are aspiring for with the launch of this new company. For new and existing customers this will mean more innovative products, system solutions, and services.”
