BASF Forward AM’s Ultrafuse Metal Filaments 316L and 17-4PH are innovative filaments to produce stainless steel parts. They are designed for ultimate ease of handling on conventional Fused Filament Fabrication 3D printers. BASF Forward AM Ultrafuse Metal Filaments combine greater freedom of design with a lower total cost of ownership – printing metal parts easier, faster and affordable.

Ultrafuse 316L is designed for ultimate ease of handling on conventional Fused Filament Fabrication 3D printers. Parts printed with Ultrafuse 316L obtain their final properties, including hardness and strength, through the catalytic debinding and sintering process. The catalytic debinding technology was developed and introduced by BASF and has emerged as the industry standard.

Ultrafuse 17-4PH stainless steel can be fully heat treated to high levels of strength and hardness. It is therefore ideal for Aerospace, the Automotive and the Medical Industry. Parts printed with metal-polymer composite filament Ultrafuse 17-4 PH obtain their final properties through a catalytic debinding and sintering process known from traditional Metal Injection Molding.

What 3D Printers can you print Ultrafuse 316L and 17-4PH?

BCN3D’s Metal Pack is an upgrade for the current Epsilon Series, W50 and W27 that opens up a new range of applications for BCN3D customers, using 316L and 17-4PH; especially for spare parts, functional prototyping and tooling. The parts produced by this process have practically identical behaviour to those produced by MIM or CNC and offer an office-friendly solution with far more design freedom.

Not only that, the Ultimaker Metal Expansion Kit is an upgrade for the Ultimaker S5 to unlock new metal FFF printing capabilities and allows you to explore a new range of metal 3D printing applications. Although metal printing on an FFF printer like the Ultimaker S5 was already possible, the process was still labour intensive and time-consuming and required a lot of knowledge. The Ultimaker Metal Expansion Kit delivers a complete solution that enables the user to go from CAD to metal parts with minimum hassle.

Our Additive Manufacturing experts will support you from material selection, application development to the correct design diameters. You can save up to 90% creating the metal tools and parts you need, using BASF Ultrafuse 316L and 17-4PH!
