New quarter-turn feedback sensor ATEX/IECEx approved for Zone 1 and Zone 21
The new NN504A gas and dust hazard approved valve feedback sensor from ifm electronic is an easy fit onto ISO standard actuators. The housing has been designed to both withstand all the requirements for hazardous areas, while at the same time being easy to access, with a large integral terminal chamber.
Two sensors are built into the one unit, to detect a target mounted on the actuator for a very simple system.
The removable terminal cover gives ample access to the sensor, two sensor outputs for open and closed position and to four terminals for solenoid connections. The M20 gland entry allows the used of steel-wire armoured cable.
Befitting the intended Zone 1 use, the circuit design is intrinsically safe, so an external barrier/amplifier mounted in the safe zone would be required. These are also available from ifm electronic in different versions, as are many other optional accessories.
The NN504A is also suitable for outdoor installation, with an IP rating of 67, and incorporates highly visible LED’s for optical feedback of the valve position.
