High efficiency motor provider WEG has released its 2024 Integrated Annual Report, reaffirming its purpose to develop technologies and solutions contributing to a more sustainable world. Guided by its vision of continuous and sustainable growth while maintaining simplicity, the company aims to be a global reference in motors, generators, transformers and electric controls, offering a wide integrated portfolio for electrification, automation and digitalisation.
The Report highlights continuous sustainability progress throughout the year, supported by the 4 WEG Sustainable pillars: Sustainable Products and Solutions, Circular and Efficient Operations, Engaged Employees and Communities and Governance and Ethical Conduct.
Key highlights include the engagement of over 880 suppliers in sustainable practices through the WEG Sustainable Suppliers Program, which completed due diligence on more than 90 per cent of its participants in its first year. Over 260 global projects were approved to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, resulting in a 28.2 per cent absolute reduction compared to the 2021 baseline. On the social front, WEG strengthened its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, employing more than 1,500 people with disabilities—a 21.8 per cent increase from the previous year.
In 2024, WEG invested BRL 37.6 million in social programs, positively impacting over 607,000 people through community initiatives and more than 222,000 beneficiaries via volunteer projects. Employee development remained a priority, with an average of 113 training hours per employee and the launch of the WEG Living Well Program for employee well-being.
Innovation remained at the heart of operations, with 55.1 per cent of revenue coming from products launched in the last five. WEG also advanced in energy transition and decarbonisation technologies, with 73.3 per cent of revenue coming from sustainable products in 2024.
