Polymer specialist igus is calling all design engineers to submit details on their latest plastic plain bearing applications for this year’s manus competition for a chance to win prize money of €5,000. The competition is open to companies worldwide and entries must be submitted by 20th February 2015. The winners will be announced during Hannover Fair 2015 in Germany, 13th -17th April.
 
Participants are invited to enter their application online with a short description outlining the previous problem and challenges including a description of the solution along with photos and videos of their application. The Gold manus winner will receive prize money of €5,000, with second and third places receiving €2,500 and €1,000. 
 
The manus awards, which were initially launched in 2003, celebrate innovation. They are a joint initiative with academic partners including the Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (Institute for composite materials), (Kaiserslautern) and the Fachhochschule Köln (academy Cologne).
