The IMI FAS CHIPREG MFC and IMI FAS FLATREG MFC have been designed to deliver precise, stable gas flow control in a compact, cost-efficient format.

Offering seamless integration into OEM architectures, the new platforms represent a step change from traditional pressure-based and manual control methods to fully automated, integrated gas flow management.

This in turn supports optimised performance, reliability and scalability across a broad spectrum of high-precision applications, from semiconductor manufacturing and thin-film coating to food & beverage systems and environmental and stability chambers, through to general industrial process control.

The new solutions allow OEMs to bypass the time and risk associated with in-house development and access enhanced instrument consistency, stability, and repeatability through a more reliable system delivered at a lower overall cost.

IMI FAS FLATREG MFC

The IMI FAS CHIPREG MFC and IMI FAS FLATREG MFC addresses growing demand for automated, scalable and modular gas flow control.  The technology is already proven in the most demanding life science environments, including bioprocessing and analytical instrumentation, where precise system performance and repeatability are mission-critical, giving industrial OEMs a trusted, de-risked foundation to build on.

Each MFC can be immediately integrated into manifold-based assemblies, reducing tubing and leak paths, simplifying layouts while improving overall system robustness.

Critically, each platform allows OEMs to go beyond simply switching flow on and off, to instead achieve precise, real-time control which improves consistency and process outcomes.

Response times are as low as 100ms, with no warm-up required, while each product is designed for stable performance without drift or recalibration, minimising the need for intervention.

Flexible I/O options, including analogue (0–5 V) and RS232/RS485 with Modbus RTU, allow integration into a wide range of systems.

Reliable operation and reduced maintenance requirements help to reduce the total cost of ownership irrespective of the application.

Measuring just 22 × 43 × 69mm, the compact IMI FAS CHIPREG MFC offers full-scale flow ranges from 0–200 ml/min up to 20 l/min in a standardised footprint for easy system integration. For higher-capacity applications, the IMI FAS FLATREG MFC extends flow capability up to 40 l/min and operates at pressure ranges up to 10 bar.

By consolidating multiple functions into a single solution, IMI FAS CHIPREG MFC and IMI FAS FLATREG MFC are further examples of how IMI continues to enable OEMs to simplify supply chains, reduce component count, and accelerate system development.

“With IMI FAS CHIPREG MFC and IMI FAS FLATREG MFC, we are making true gas flow control accessible to OEMs in a way that simplifies system design while unlocking new levels of precision, repeatability and scalability,” explained Pratik Vishwakarma, Product Management – Valves and Sensors, Industrial Automation at IMI.

“These solutions reflect our focus on delivering integrated, application-driven innovations that help our customers stay ahead in increasingly demanding markets.”
