3D Laser Mapping has opened a state of the art research and development facility close to its global headquarters in Nottingham. The new facility will house a dedicated research and development team and will focus on new product development and research into laser scanning solutions across a range of markets.

“This new facility will play a key role in our strategy for development of existing products, such as the market leading mobile mapping system StreetMapper and our mine monitoring system SiteMonitor, as well as new laser scanning solutions such as the handheld mobile mapping system Zeb1,” commented 3D Laser Mapping’s executive chairman, Dr Graham Hunter.

Tools at the new centre will include the latest in terrestrial laser scanning hardware, positioning technologies and software development systems. Testing facilities will include state of the art simulation technologies and software and the centre will house a dedicated training suite.
