The DuoDrive integrates the IE5+ synchronous motor into a single-stage helical gear unit housing and thus sets new standards with regard to efficiency, installation space and version reduction.
A real cost reducer
As a system, the very compact geared motor concept achieves a significantly higher energy efficiency than the already proven drive systems with IE5+ synchronous motor and bevel gear unit. At up to 92%, DuoDrive currently offers the highest system efficiency on the market in this power class, and achieves very high efficiency in the partial load range. It is thus future-proof and a real cost reducer. The constant motor torque over a wide speed range allows for consistent version reduction and reduction of operating costs. Together with the simple plug-and-play commissioning, this results in a significant reduction in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in comparison with existing drive systems.
Decisive advantages for parcel distribution centres
The DuoDrive is available for powers of up to 3 kW with a continuous torque of up to 250 Nm and speeds of up to 1,000 min–1, and covers gear unit speed ratios of i=3 to i=18. Thanks to the integration of motor and gear unit many wear-prone parts are omitted, reducing maintenance efforts and friction losses. In addition to the high system efficiency, the smooth, unventilated and compact design, and the quiet running with minimum noise emissions are further important features of the new DuoDrive. A motor-integrated encoder and a mechanical brake are optionally available.
Simple integration into existing plant designs
As with all products in NORD’s portfolio the DuoDrive geared motor is compatible with NORD drive electronics. Thanks to its design and operation with the frequency inverter, the DuoDrive can be universally used with the same motor variant worldwide. Market-compatible connection dimensions facilitate the replacement and the integration into existing plant designs.
